We kicked off our camp with a Sunday meeting, and everyone brought refreshments, and yes, we had wine........We were given the requirements for our first week, including a special diet custom made to jump start our metabolism, along with recommended vitamin supplements. We also have special fat-burning fitness classes 5 times a week, but that will be the easy part, compared to this food list, I think! lol!
Day 1:
TW surprised me with her whole-hearted approach to this! She is taking her vitamins and that in itself is amazing, since the last time she ingested any vitamin was more that a decade ago! She is eating the required foods as well! You go, TW !
TW:"I'm in vitamin hell!"
SC has her week mapped out, how cute is she?? She is very thorough and full of knowledge on whats good and whats not for this week and is the buddy to choose if you want to succeed. She has it all going on!
SC: "Hard to find snacks-found out for sure-able to eat pistachios!!!!!
MM is bummed about the no beer rule, but she is eating like a champ! She is diligently searching out the "right" foods, and keeping the workers ar Wal-Mart busy putting back all the stuff she throws down when she reads the ingredients and sees whats NOT good to have!!
MM "Whoever eats regular unflavored oatmeal made with water by choice is just not right! EWWWW!"
BY is a machine! Shes ready to conquer this first week by packing the right foods to take to work so she keeps on track! Keep it up, BY!!
BY: nothing to say...... :)
BN left the meeting and went straight for supplies! She is on the right track and was the first one in Monday morning to work out! Yay for you, BN!!
MC is a favorite to kick butt this week! She is determined and will be a certain success! We wish her well and she is in our prayers and we hope the best for her family at this time.
CR is well-informed and making great choices. She has the dedication and stamina we all admire, and we all are thankful for her great recipie ideas!
We had a good class on Monday night! Everyone was upbeat and excited to be doing this together. We compared foods and what we had found to eat that fits this weeks criteria. Everyone is very supportive and so far, its going GREAT!!!
Trainer EN says:
I am pretty MAD that I can't have certain foods this week.. forget the cheerful, upbeat crap....I was getting my son an ice cream cone and wanted SO bad to eat a scoop...but I resisted and I am proud of that! Last night(Monday) was hard with only a few choices to snack on, but I made it through. My thought is, we only have this special limited eating program for 1 week, and since I really want to jump start my lethargic metabolism, I can do a week. I know I can!! Did you know GUM has 5 calories?? YIKES! I CAN'T wait till weeks 2, 3 and 4. So, as long as I stick with it, I see SUCCESS!!! But, GOD, its only TUESDAY morning!! AHHHHHH! LOL!!! See you tonight!! Eat right!
Day 2
Hi, y'all! Class was good! We noticed BN had energy to burn! MM said she made better food choices today! Good job! TW was a riot, maybe a bit delirious from no chocolate...! SC was right on target, working hard as always! BY was full of good cheer, with lots of positive input!
Get well soon, CR!! We love you, MC!!
Trainer EN:
Well, I am not too hungry, but I miss my junk food!! I had a good turkey wrap for lunch and am having chicken for dinner...the cheddar cheese rice cakes arent too bad, but I could really go for some chips and dip!! The fruit is starting to bore me, I am looking for crunchy stuff and NOT carrots either! But, so far, so good..everyone is doing well and I am so proud of all of my girls!! Time for a snack so I will c-u later!
SC Trouble eating all the calories. Didnt seem hungry today go figure.
BN says, "2 pieces of gum =5 calories! :) I am doing great for day 2. I have so much more energy, it might be from the green tea supplements? I am looking forward to class tonight and getting some ideas on more munchies... I ate 6 slices of turkey last night...only 50 cals! This is actually fun for now!"
TW says, "I need CHOCOLATE!!"
BY had absolutely nothing to say today!! (But in a positive way I think!)
MM says, "Screw the oatmeal! I chose much better tasting food today. Although easier than I thought so far, you have to be creative with your menu choices to stay on track!( I must confess, on the way home at a stop light, a woman pulled up beside me licking an ice cream cone. I would have knocked it out of her hand if I could have reached it!) Have a good night! (no cheating!)
Day 3
Trainer EN:
Its day 3 and I was looking at my oatmeal this morning, (thinking of MM!) and telling myself that I can do this...ugh. No time for eggs and bacon although that sounded really good..........still on the wagon at 10:20am......!
SC says "Today made up for yesterday, starved all day. Dinner tonight eating my wonderful salad with vinegar & oil with the fork trick and it worked. I felt full and really did not want anything else to eat not even the wonderful rolls that came with the salad. can hardly wait to see what tomorrow will be like."
MM says, "Im dragging today. Is it the time change, pms, or this diet? I'm sure its nothing a big mac, a six-pack and a peanut buster parfait couldnt fix! I almost had a melt down in the ice cream isle at Wal-mart when I couldnt find any frozen goody that doesnt contain sugar! Sugar free is sooo decieving! have no fear, day 3 is done and I'm hanging on!"
TW says, "It is getting better."
BY says, "I'm having a great time!"
Trainer EN:
Ok, today , as it wore on, I got hungrier and crankier. There is a freakin Dairy Queen that I pass all the time, I may have to find a new route! Have been good, but MC told me about a sugar free jello pudding that I am going to buy and also cool whip has no sugar, I am psyched about that!! So I am going to buy that and hopefully feel better with something psuedo-sweet in my system. UGH. But is IS Thursday...I'm doing pretty well...just wait till my girls see what is coming for next week!! L O L !!!
Day 5
Trainer EN:
Holy hell am I hungry!! LOL! I am wondering if my jaw will be sore from chewing gum all the time! Glad its friday, thats for sure! We had a good morning class, and MC and BY are hanging tough. More later, I have to go EAT LUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MC: Well, its Friday and I'm still here! Do (6) slices of turkey have only 50 calories? THATS AWESOME! My son made me an adaptable philly steak/cheese! Its amazing how good some things are tasting right now! Buy SUGAR FREE cool whip its great-even plain. If I can make it through the weekend, I can make it through ANYTHING! THANKS, NANCY! Couldnt do it without you!
(Note to MC: I love you!!! Keep up the FANTASTIC work!! I am SO proud of you and your upbeat attitude...you are on a roll...KEEP IT GOING!!!!! )
SC: no class-don't know if its good or bad. End of week getting easier, thank God week is almost over. Can hardly wait to see what next week holds!
Day 6
Trainer EN:
We had a good, strong class this morning, great job RD, glad you joined us!
Now, here's the age-old question-"Can I eat chips?" And here's the answer- they do actually make some kinds with better ingredients than they used to...choose wisely! I am looking forward to next week, yet dreading the opportunity to make my own choices...I really want to choose that damn mint oreo blizzard that I have been dreaming about..stay tuned to see if I do!! Lol! We will be using our p.c. bowls and the fork trick-this should be FUN!! Everyone so far is doing SO good! The Bon jovi concert tonight ought to be a good test for SOMEBODY (MM?!) I am getting a warm and fuzzy feeling here just knowing that week 1 is almost done......WAIT...maybe that's HUNGER I feel.....! ;)
SC: Class was a work out, like usual. next week will be different, I have never planned ahead sooooo much for my meals. Went shopping for food and snacks for next week.
(Sunday) SC: Today, I fixed lunch and snacks for the week. I guess there is a first time for everything. We will have to see how it goes.
Day 7 Sunday shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no comments today...........
Week 2 Monday
W2 Tuesday
Wednesday
Today everyone is still on their own as far as food choices......we will check in later and see how its been going.....
OK, its week 3.....
We got off schedule a little bit here because of Easter, but we are back on the blog track!
Week 3 has all the campers showing and feeling great results!
We will pick up with week 4 next...........
Trainer EN:
Ok, to all you loyal campers, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Everyone has achieved results, and some are AMAZED with what they have accomplished in 4 short weeks! I am so proud of the dedication! And, surprisingly enough, this is a doable venture, with visible results!! This is really fantastic! We are all great examples of what can be accomplished if you just try! And, now, in retrospect, it wasn't even all that hard......was it?
